Every year we give one day off to employees to volunteer in our local community. For several years we’ve worked with Habitat for Humanity to build houses, take part in neighborhood vitalization initiatives or help out in community gardens.
We see participating, supporting and engaging with our local community as a requirement for businesses to give back, and essential to connecting our company to the place we’ve put down our roots for over 20 years. We are proud to encourage our employees to participate in events around the Bay Area including local and national awareness events, events dedicated to fundraising and raising awareness for the communities we aim to serve, and by volunteering in our community.
HABITAT FOR HUMANITY
“Wear Red Day” for National Heart Month
During American Heart Month, on the first Friday of February, we join people across the country in wearing red to raise awareness for heart disease. This annual photo is distributed across all of our social channels to demonstrate our commitment to the cause.
NAPA VALLEY RIDE TO DEFEAT ALS
For many years, Cytokinetics has participated in The ALS Association Golden West Chapter’s Napa Valley Ride to Defeat ALS. Employees, friends and family ride 9, 28, 47, 62 or 100 miles in Napa to fundraise and raise awareness for ALS. Over the years, our teams have raised more than $50,000 in support of ALS research, education and support services.
Second Harvest Food Bank
Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, our team came together for our annual volunteering event with Second Harvest Food Bank of Silicon Valley. Wearing masks and socially distanced, our team helped distribute food to those in need in San Mateo and Santa Clara counties.
