Polina German, Pharm.D.

VP, Head of Clinical Pharmacology

Polina was appointed Vice President of Clinical Pharmacology in November 2024.

Since Polina joined Cytokinetics in May 2021 as the Head of Clinical Pharmacology, she has built and led the Clinical Pharmacology department, providing strategic and scientific leadership across the full spectrum of our clinical development pipeline.

Before joining Cytokinetics, Polina spent 14 years at Gilead Sciences where she started as a clinical pharmacologist and held progressive roles, leading to her serving as Executive Director of Clinical Pharmacology overseeing the virology therapeutic area.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from the University of California, Berkeley and received her Pharm.D. from the University of California, San Francisco. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Clinical pharmacology and Therapeutics at the University of California, San Francisco.

Polina enjoys reading, traveling, and listening to music. In her free time, she loves spending time with her family and friends.
