Emma Chaffin

VP and General Manager, UK, Ireland, and Nordic Countries

Emma joined Cytokinetics as Vice President and General Manager of UK, Ireland, and Nordic Countries in March 2025. 

Emma has more than 25 years of commercial experience in the biopharma industry. Her most recent role was at IQVIA as a Senior Client Partner, guiding US biotech companies’ commercializing of their products in Europe. Prior to this, Emma was VP commercial at Galapagos, establishing their UK and Ireland affiliate and launching their first product simultaneously.  She has held senior commercial positions at Jazz Pharmaceuticals, Shield Therapeutics, Otsuka Pharmaceuticals, and Leo Pharma as well as over 10 years on life sciences consultancy organizations. Her experience spans general management, sales, marketing and market access, with geographical experience in Europe, Middle East, Africa, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. 

Emma received a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from Aston University, a master’s degree in clinical pharmacy from the School of Pharmacy at the University of London, gaining the Dean’s prize for the outstanding student, and an executive MBA from Hult International Business School.  

Emma lives in the Chilterns between London and Oxford with her husband, Stephen, daughter Briony and French Bulldog Monty. She loves running, yoga, travelling and warm water scuba diving.
