Paul Renhowe, Ph.D.

VP, Drug Discovery

Paul joined Cytokinetics as Vice President of Drug Discovery in September 2025.

Paul brings 30 years of drug discovery experience, advancing more than a dozen compounds into the clinic in therapeutic areas including oncology, cardiovascular, cardiopulmonary, fibrosis, CNS and autoimmunity.

Paul most recently served as Head of Discovery at Matchpoint Therapeutics. Prior to Matchpoint Therapeutics, he worked at Cyclerion, Ironwood Pharmaceutical and Novartis. Paul began his career at Chiron Corporation as a Medicinal Chemistry Scientist.

Paul received his Ph.D. in organic chemistry from UC Irvine and his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from North Dakota State University.
